Manager Keith Hill has told Dale PlayerHD that the signing of Sanmi Odelusi makes his squad stronger.
The winger put pen to paper on a season-long loan on Monday. He joins Rochdale from Championship side Wigan Athletic.
Hill is delighted to have secured the services of the 23-year-old.
“It makes us stronger,” said Hill.
“He has a lot of the ingredients that I expect from a player who plays up front. He’s got pace, he’s got power, he can be quite direct at times and he’s got a threat at goal. He gives me a bigger, better rounded squad.
“He’s got to catch to speed because there’s a certain way that we do things, but when he catches up to speed he’ll be a really good footballing asset for this football club.
“Like I said, he makes us stronger and he makes us better. It’s that calibre of player that I’m looking to recruit and I want another three.”
And Hill hasn’t ruled out another addition to his forward options, if he can get his man.
“There’s one more special player that I would like to recruit but at this moment in time I’ve got absolutely no chance.
“He’s a player I’ve been chasing for 12 months, if not a little bit longer, and we’ve not managed to snaffle him yet. But if he was to become available then he’s the player that I would recruit in a heartbeat.”
