Want to play football while studying? Why not consider joining Rochdale AFC’s Elite Development Squad.
Rochdale AFC has teamed up with Hopwood Hall College to offer a two year sport and football qualification, starting in September 2016, and there’s still time to secure your place.
The level 3 BTEC diploma will be delivered from the Education Suite at Spotland Stadium and students will play in the BSC ECFA League.
In addition, players on the programme have the opportunity to play for Rochdale Town’s Youth Team.
Entry requirements:
16-18 years old
4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
Apply online via www.hopwood.ac.uk. Course code: SPTL3FCFR1.
Lee Riley, a Dale coach, commented: “We have linked up with Rochdale Town FC in order to provide the players with the most playing and development time possible.
“From next season onwards, our team, as well as playing in the ECFA League on a Wednesday, will compete in the North West Youth Alliance Semi-Professional Youth League, on a Sunday.
“This enables us to offer the students a pathway into professional football with ourselves, but also a route into semi-professional football with Rochdale Town. Our players will also be available to play for the Rochdale Town first team, if selected by the management.”
