Matty Lund On Dale's Barnsley Test

22 January 2016

Matty Lund is raring to go, as Dale get set to make the trip to Barnsley’s Oakwell.

Rochdale will return to action after last weekend’s postponement and Lund is looking forward to it.

“I’m enjoying playing, so the more games the better for me personally at the moment," said the midfielder.

“We just need to go to Barnsley now and hopefully put on a strong performance and show that the couple of days we had off and the last few days have been beneficial to us.

“Barnsley are a good team so we know it’ll be difficult and know what to expect.

“We played them at the start of the season and did well [Dale were 3-0 winners], so we need to go there with the same mentality that we can beat them.

“I watched from the stands last year when we played them away from home on the last game of the season so we need to go there with a better performance than last year.

“But if we can go there and set up right, do the right things and work as a team like the Walsall game, for example, where we were very strong and worked together very well, then we can definitely get three points.”

With 21 game still let to play this season, Lund hopes that the side can push up the table.

“The goals are back and everybody is chipping in with the goals, so if we can get scoring goals like we have been doing recently then we’ve got a chance. We just need to keep strong at the back.

“We want to keep pushing up the table and that’s up to us. We know we can do it and we know we can do it in ourselves. We were close to making the play-offs last year, so we just need to get that five or six game run.”
