Steven Davies Shortlisted For Sky Bet League One Player Of The Month Award

7 December 2016

Steven Davies has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award for November.

The striker scored six goals during the month, including four in the league, as Dale climbed to fifth in the division.

The goal scoring spree takes his tally for the season so far to 10 in all competitions.

Last month, Joe Bunney was shortlisted for the award, while Keith Hill was nominated for the monthly manager's award in September.

The Shortlist

Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers) – central defender
Experienced and technically sound under pressure, he provided the glue that held the Bolton defence together as they kept three clean sheets in four games. Outstanding in the 2-0 win over Millwall as he kept his former teammates quiet.

Steven Davies (Rochdale) – striker
With four goals in 198 minutes on the pitch, including braces against Swindon and Walsall, the 28-year-old is proving the perfect impact substitute with his reading of the game and his ability to move defenders around to create holes.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell (Sheffield United) – central defender
Made a telling impact at both ends of the pitch for the second successive month. A cult hero at Bramall Lane with his kick-it, head-it style at the back, his fourth goal of the season was a vital one – a 93rd-minute winner against Bury.

Jay O’Shea (Chesterfield) - midfielder
Standing out in a side mired in the relegation places is not easy, but that is what O’Shea did in November. Naturally talented, he created chances for others and scored four goals, which included a superb free-kick against Bristol Rovers.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
