Calvin Andrew Signs Contract Extension

9 December 2016

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that Calvin Andrew has signed an extension to his current contract.

The one-year extension will keep him contracted to the club until the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old has been at Rochdale since 2014 and has made almost 100 appearances for Keith Hill’s side.

Andrew told Dale PlayerHD: “I’m really pleased to be at the club and I’m happy here.

“I have a good relationship with the Gaffer. We have a laugh and joke sometimes, but when things get serious and we need to focus on the job, then we get it done.

“I’m really pleased to be working for him and that’s a massive reason why I’ve signed on for another year, and hopefully we can get the club up the leagues."

Manager Keith Hill added: “I’m pleased that Calvin wants to stay and I’m pleased that we’re taking care of business earlier than we previously have done.

“From my perspective, it's good business. He’s a great leader in the changing rooms and out on the pitch, and I’ve got to thank Calvin for showing faith in me and in the football club.

“He’s admitted that he could go to another club and earn more money but it’s about striking a balance and he’s happy here. He’s happy in his football, he’s happy in his life, he’s happy working for me and for the football club, and we’ve struck the right balance with making sure that Calvin secures at least this season and next season at the football club.”
