Sheffield United v Rochdale: Preview

12 August 2016

Dale are on the road for the first time this season on Saturday as Keith Hill’s side make the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United.

It’s the first of two away trips in the space of three days for Rochdale, with a trip to Port Vale following on Tuesday.

Dale go into the weekend’s game following the 3-1 win EFL Cup win over Chesterfield at the Crown Oil Arena, while Sheffield United exited the competition after being beaten 3-2 by Crewe Alex in extra-time.

The game sees Harrison McGahey return to his former club, while two well-known faces could start against Dale for the Blades – Matty Done and Jack O’Connell.

Ahead of the fixture, Sheffield United have completed the loan signing of winger Harry Chapman from Middlesbrough.
