Keith Hill's Post-Match Reaction - Sheffield United

13 August 2016

Manager Keith Hill reflects on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United…

Andy Cannon netted his third goal in as many games to give Dale a first half lead, but Billy Sharp rescued a point for the Blades late in the game.

Hill told Dale PlayerHD: “We’re disappointed to only be leaving with a point. There’s no question about that.

“I don’t subscribe to all the politics of football - who should be winning this game and that game, or they’re a great team etc. We ARE a team and we’re a good team at that.

“We made other opportunities. Even in the second half when it’s 1-1, Calvin Andrew had a free header. You’ve got to take those chances to improve our opportunities as a team, but I’m relatively pleased with a lot of the performance today. We could have a good season, but we’ve got to put it all together.”

The point gets Dale off the mark but Hill says he’s not too bothered about that.

“Performances will turn into points. We’ve had three really good performances – we’re scoring goals and I thought we looked really well defensively today and we counter-attacked them so I’m really, really pleased.

“I’m not looking at anything other than the performances.”
