Manager Keith Hill has told www.rochdaleafc.co.uk that he’s delighted to have secured the services of experienced utility player Keith Keane.
The 29-year-old, who can play at full-back, in the centre of defence or in midfield, joined Dale on loan from Cambridge United on transfer deadline day.
Hill commented: “I’ve admired Keith for a long time. When he was at Luton I thought he was a magnificent player for them and then he went on to play for Preston. We made him an offer to come to the football club before he left Preston to go to Cambridge but we couldn’t get the deal sealed.
“It hasn’t worked out for him at Cambridge – he’s had a few injury concerns, but he’s fit now and he’s ready to go.
“He’s got the experience that I want, and that utility aspect of his game is such a valuable commodity for a club like ours and for a squad going into a closed window.
“It’s the right signing and it makes sense.”
