Azeem Amir's Tough Mudder Challenge!

15 August 2016

Friend of the club, blind footballer Azeem Amir, has signed up to take part in this year’s Tough Mudder event!

He is raising money for the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity, and in particular the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. This is a cause very dear to Azeem and his family, as they have cared for Azeem since birth.

The challenge takes place on September 10th.

Azeem said: “I am someone who doesn't allow his disability to overshadow his ability and instead of letting my disability act as an excuse, I with the help of Sam Dainty, will attempt to complete the greatest challenge of my life.

“I aiming to raise money for those who have allowed me and thousands of others to see something instead of nothing, by becoming the youngest blind person in the world to complete one of the toughest events on the planet, Tough Mudder.

“You can’t put a price on such valuable care and the staff there go above and beyond providing some of the best care in the world. With the money raised, the hospital can continue its excellent treatment, care and research to enhance the lives of thousands of patients each year.

“I’d be humbled if you could sponsor me. Thank you!
