Keith Hill's Pre-Match Interview: Port Vale

22 April 2016

Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale PlayerHD ahead of Saturday’s trip to Vale Park…

Rochdale remain within touching distance of the play-off positions following Tuesday night’s draw with Gillingham.

A run of nine games with just one defeat has propelled Hill’s side up the League One table and to within four points of the top six with three games left to play.

Hill, who expects a difficult encounter against the Valiants this Saturday, was in a positive mood ahead of the match.

“We can only focus on ourselves.

“I thought the point gained on Tuesday night was a positive point.

“The fact of the matter is that we’re in a really good position and we’re really pleased with the points that we’ve got.

“We got 63 last year and we’ve got 65 points already this season with three games to go. We’ve lost less games, drawn more and at this moment in time we’ve won 18 games, which is one less than the whole of last season, so we’re looking at positives all over.

“But we’ve got three games to get as many points as we possibly can, starting with Port Vale on Saturday.

“Vale Park is always a difficult place to go to. I think they’ve got a good squad of players and they’re in good form themselves so it makes for a really, really good game.

“We respect Port Vale immensely. They’ve also had a great season and I’m looking forward to the game.

“There’s no pressure on either team and I think you can get a great game out of that situation.”
