U18s: Youth Team Hoping To Build Momentum As They Face Tranmere Rovers

11 September 2015

Dale’s under 18 side are back in action this Saturday as they face league leaders Tranmere Rovers.

Head of Academy Coahing, Rick Ashcroft, spoke to Dale PlayerHD ahead of the game.

“Tranmere have been doing very well, so it’ll be an interesting test for us against a solid team.

“We’re looking forward to going there and pitting our wits against them, as well as seeing if we can build on Tuesday’s win over Carlisle United and carry some momentum forward.”

He continued: “There has been a spread of results [across the league so far].

“It’s all about building a little bit of momentum - we’ve failed to do that so far but I’m hoping we can now go on do that.

“It’s too early to say, but I think the league will start panning out and taking shape in the next month or two.

“As we know from last year, we were in and around it and then because of the run we had, you can add the points to the tally and keep rising, so that’s what we’re hoping to do.”

Saturday’s game will be played at Raby Vale Training Ground, Wirall, CH63 4JE.

Kick-off is 11am.
