Kennedy: We’ve Got That Sort Of Mentality Where We’re Going Into Every Game Confident

10 September 2015

Dale PlayerHD had a midweek chat with Tom Kennedy...

The full-back, who reflected on the season so far, is in confident mood ahead of Saturday’s trip to Burton Albion.

“You’ve got to look at the season as a whole and the start we’ve made has been good.

“As a collective team, we’re a little bit disappointed not to have won every game because we’ve got that sort of mentality where we’re going into every game confident.

“We never underestimate an opponent but we’ve got faith in our squad as a whole. You’ve seen that when we’ve had injuries and we’ve had people coming in and going back out of the team again. It's a very strong squad, but it’s also a confident squad.

“And like you saw on Saturday [against Fleetwood Town], we still had a chance to win the game at the end, but it’s not going to halt our momentum and our mind-set, which is keep working hard and good things happen.”

Dale make the trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face a Brewers side who have so far adapted well to life in League One following their promotion as Champions at the end of last season.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side are currently fifth in the table, just a point and a place above Dale.

Kennedy admits it’s a game that the players are looking forward to.

“In my opinion, there are no easy games in this league. It’s a very competitive league and I’ve no doubt that they [Burton Albion] will be up there at the end of the season.

“It’s another test for us but it’s one that we’re relishing and looking forward to.

“We don’t fear anybody. We go into every game having our game plan that the Gaffer sets us, so we know what we’re doing and that’s all we can do.

“If we work hard and give 100-percent every game, then I don’t think we’ll go far wrong.”
