Dale Cook Up A Storm At Feel Good Festival

7 September 2015

Rochdale Football Club were proud to be part of local event...

He might have labelled himself the ‘Mad Chef’ before the event, but Manager Keith Hill proved to be a success in the kitchen as he showed off his skills at the Rochdale Feel Good Festival on Friday.

The Gaffer was joined on the Celebrity Cooking stage by Assistant Manager Chris Beech and first team players Rhys Bennett and Matty Lund.

The quartet were on stage for over an hour and cooked up two healthy dishes – chicken and fish – under the watchful eye of BBC Fusion Chef Aazam Ahmad, who wasn’t shy in giving them a bit of a hard time with his witty banter.

Desmond the Dragon, who later took part in a dance off on the Roch Valley Radio stage, kept youngsters from Shawclough Primary School entertained as they came to watch the lads in action.

You can see what Keith, Chris, Rhys and Matty got up to on our YouTube channel HERE.

In addition to the first team’s involvement, the football club had a presence at the event over the course of the two days.

An exhibition of photos showcasing the club was on display at the merchandise stall, while fixture cards and posters were given out as staff spread the word about upcoming games at Spotland.

Not only that, Dale’s Community Trust team were there, involving the young (and the not so young) in their penalty shoot-out game. Even the Mayor had a go!
