Chief Exec On Kit Design Competition

17 September 2015

With the 6-3-1 Project deadline fast approaching, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve seen a surge in entries.

Designs are being sent in via email, through the post, and being handed into the Club Shop.

Supporters of all ages are getting involved. The youngest fan to submit an entry so far is three-years-old, while the oldest is over 60 years-old.

Speaking ahead of the deadline, Dale Chief Exec Colin Garlick, commented: “The more entries that are submitted the better – it’s definitely a case of more the merrier!

“We’ve extended the deadline to Saturday and people should have a go. It could be their kit that the players are playing next year - that’s how real this is!”

He continued: “What we’ve done is listened to supporters.

“I’ve spoken in the past about how we arrived at the 2015-16 kits, and just to re-cap, the kit that we’ve got on at the moment was designed by the players.

“Now, we’ve got Team Rochdale involved. We’re going to have an input from supporters, the Board of Directors, staff and players. Our new kit supplier, Errea, is also very much behind the competition.

“Errea is very excited about it, so much so that our main contact who operates in the UK has invited his boss over from Italy. He’s coming over to be part of the judging panel, so I think it’s great that so many people from every facet of the club are involved.

“In the end we’re going to get a kit that is designed by a supporter and I’m looking forward to see what we actually get out of it.”
