Peter Vincenti netted his sixth goal in seven games for Dale on Saturday as the side fell to a 3-1 defeat to Bradford City at Spotland.
Speaking to the press after the game, he commented: “It was nice to get on the score-sheet but it’s disappointing not to get the win. It’s disappointing that we haven’t capitalised on Tuesday night’s [win over Shrewsbury Town] today.
“There are a few things that we need to put right but we’re a good team and there’s not a whole lot that needs to be fixed – we’ve already shown that numerous times this season.
“It’s just little things that we need to nip in the bud and once we get that done I’m sure it’ll be fine. We’re confident going into every game and nothing is broken at the minute, so we’ll get it right.”
And Vincenti is looking forward to the month ahead, starting with Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round tie against Chesterfield.
“It’s a good month. The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game on Tuesday night is the most important because it’s the next one, so we’ll look to [do well] in that, then it’s Sheffield United followed by a couple of derbies, so it’s definitely a month to look forward to.”
Dale have already faced the Spireites this season, with the two teams playing out an entertaining goalless draw at the Proact Stadium in August. Vincenti says the players know the opposition quite well.
“We had them during the promotion season from League Two and it turned into a little bit of a rivalry because we both were both going for promotion. We also played them in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy that year as well so we've played them a few times [in recent years].
"We know that they’re a good side, we know that they’re a good passing side, but it’s another game that we’ll prepare for, and like every game, it’s one that we want to win.”
