Hill: It Should Be A Good Game & I'm Looking Forward To It

19 October 2015

Manager Keith Hill has been looking ahead to Tuesday night’s League One encounter v Coventry City at Spotland in his latest interview.

He told Dale PlayerHD: “The players were pleased after Saturday’s clean sheet and it gives them a lot of confidence going into the next game and the game after that.

“They’re all big games in League One. We fought hard to play football in League One and we shouldn’t get complacent with it. We should enjoy it and we’ve got to take on the challenges that opposition like Coventry pose.”

Former England star Joe Cole is expected to play some part for Tony Mowbray’s side in the midweek fixture after joining the Sky Blues on loan from from Aston Villa on Friday.

Hill reckons it’s a “marvellous” signing.

“I think it’s a statement from Joe Cole that he actually wants to play football. For him to drop down to League One it shows what type of character he is and I know that he loves the game.

“I think Coventry a very good side and, in my opinion, they’ve got an outstanding Manager.

“It should be a good game and I’m looking forward to it.”

After welcoming Calvin Andrew and Ian Henderson back from injury for Saturday’s trip to Gigg Lane, Hill could now be without Joe Rafferty, who is due to go for a scan on Monday.

“We’ve got to get the balance right and we’ve got to get key players back out onto the pitch. We’ve seen signs of that over the weekend with the inclusion of Ian Henderson and Calvin Andrew. Callum Camps is back in the fold after international duty but we’re picking up one or two injuries as well with Joe Rafferty having to go for a scan today on a stomach muscle complaint, so we’ll see where we’re at with him. Rhys Bennett is injured as well.

“But as I have said before, I’m reasonably happy with the squad and we’ll try and select a team that will take on Coventry.”

The full interview is on Dale PlayerHD.
