Callum Camps & Ian Henderson Sign Contract Extensions

23 October 2015

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that Callum Camps and Ian Henderson have committed their future to Dale, with the pair signing extensions to their current contracts.

Camps, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, has penned a one year extension, meaning he is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2017. The club also has an option in its favour.

Henderson, meanwhile, has signed a two year extension to his current contract, keeping him contracted to the club until the summer of 2018. He has confirmed that he'll end his playing career at Spotland.

“When you reflect back over the time that I’ve been at the football club, it has been one of them magic moments where everything clicks because prior to that I had a nomadic career. I think I’ve found my home and I’m going to retire at Rochdale," said Hendo.

“I’m going to see out my playing career here because I love the place so much. I love the North West and there are so many factors determining my stay here – the football, the management staff, the players and the fans. I also want to settle in the North West so I’m extremely happy.”

Camps commented: “I’m really pleased to have signed the extension. I’m enjoying my football and I enjoy it here at the club. It’s a good environment and I feel as though I’m developing as a player and as a person, and I also think I’ve matured a lot over the summer.

“I’ve personally had a good start to the season so I want to keep working hard to keep developing and to hopefully get a consistent run in the team."

And Manager Keith Hill is delighted that the duo have penned extensions: “I’m really pleased because we have to do things a certain way.

“We’re doing it by trying to develop within our environment and by retaining players like Ian Henderson and developing players like Callum Camps.

“Retaining these two players, who are at different spectrums of their career, is a magnificent achievement for the football club [and it reflects on] how we do things and our good financial house keeping.

“I’m just really pleased that Callum and Ian have decided to continue on the journey. I believe with that type of signing that it’ll be a very successful journey.”
