Keith Hill On The Arrival Of John O'Sullivan From Blackburn Rovers

27 November 2015

Manager Keith Hill has spoken to Dale PlayerHD about the arrival of John O’Sullivan, who has joined Rochdale on loan from Blackburn Rovers until January.

“I obviously had a good relationship with Gary Bowyer and with previous business, especially with Jack O’Connell, there are a few players at Blackburn that I've got a keen interest for the future.

“I tried to get John earlier in the season. There were a few clubs trying to recruit John before Thursday’s deadline but he’s a player that I was chasing.

“Once Paul Lambert and Alan Irvine, who is an ex-team mate of mine, had taken over [the managerial reigns at Blackburn Rovers], I got in touch with him and he said there was a possibility that he would be allowed to come out on loan. It happened pretty quickly after that.

“I spoke to John and he expressed an interest to come to us and the management team at Blackburn wanted him to come to Rochdale to play games.

"I’m glad I’ve recruited him. He’s a good player and he’s an attacking player who can play anywhere along the front line or as an offensive midfield player, so I’m really pleased to have recruited him.

“I’ve got a design for him and know what we want him to do. I just hope that the supporters support him and I’m sure he’ll enjoy his time here.”
