Rochdale made history at the weekend after securing their highest ever league finish.
A successful 2014/15 campaign saw Dale finish eighth, which surpassed the previous record of a ninth placed finish, which was set during the 2010/11.
Speaking after the final game of the season, Assistant Manager Chris Beech told Dale Player: “Finishing eighth in League One is the highest the club has ever finished in the history of the football club. That’s something to be part of as a group of people, isn’t it.
“We’ve scored more goals and had more wins at this level than we’ve ever done before so that’s something to hold onto going into the summer.”
He continued: “We’ve got a great young squad that has gone through a two-and-a-half year development, including lads who have come out of the youth team. They’ve gained promotion in their first year as a professional footballer and they’ve finished the highest we’ve ever done in their second year as professional, which is superb.
“And the lads are very excited about pre-season already. They’re eager to keep moving forwards in terms of what has become modern history in our football club.”
