Hendo: We'll Get Our Fortune Through Hard Work

2 March 2015

Ian Henderson spoke to Dale Player following Saturday’s League One fixture against Bristol City.

He gave his thoughts on the match: “When you look at the game, they’ve had one half chance and scored. The chap that’s scored is literally facing his own goal and he’s headed it in.

“We can look at it as being unfortunate, or we can look at it as we’ve played well and not come away something, and I’m going to take the latter.

“We can take positives from the game. We got back to passing the ball again, moving it and creating chances.

“We’ve come here and had around four or five real good chances that we could have put away and on another day it could have been a totally different score.

“For me personally, I’m happy with the performance but I feel that the result didn’t reflect that.”

Hendo also praised the fans for their support. You can hear what he had to say on our YouTube channel by clicking HERE.

Tuesday night’s opponents, Crewe Alexandra, are just two points behind Rochdale in the League One table, and Henderson recognises that picking up points against teams that are in around Dale is important.

“We’ve got to capitalise on playing the teams in and around us now. We’ve got a couple of home games coming up and we’ll do our best in those.

“Tuesday night is going to be a difficult game but we’ll go into it with confidence.

“You’ve got to be workman like, you’ve got to work incredibly hard, both individually and as a team, and that’s where we’re going to get our fortune – through hard work.”
