Hill: Players Back In On Friday

25 June 2015

Dale’s preparations for the 2015-16 season will charge full steam ahead on Friday as the players return for the start of pre-season.

The players will be put through a series of assessments on Friday and will complete three days of endurance training next week, before flying out to Tenerife on Thursday for a week long training camp.

With the players completing an out of season programme during the summer, Manager Keith Hill is expecting them to return in good shape.

He told Dale PlayerHD: “The majority have had close season programmes and they have been at the club frequently. It was important that they had a good rest and had down time away from football, but they have to do preparation work in pursuit of improvement next season and the players have stuck to task.

“We trust the players and we’re looking forward to Monday.

“The first three training days are endurance based and then when we get to Tenerife we will see a lot of the football - there will be at least two sessions a day.

“We’re really trying to make sure that we hit the ground running. We want to make sure that the basic principles of how we want to play the game, both with and without the ball, are set in stone in Tenerife.

“We’re also looking forward to plotting the successes for next season. We’ll try our best to ignore what’s going on right across League One and just focus on what we’re trying to achieve.”
