Billy Hasler-Cregg has been chatting to Dale Player after completing his first pre-season trip abroad.
The 18-year-old, who signed his first professional contract this summer, says the Tenerife camp has lived up to expectations in terms of how hard he has had to work.
He told Dale Player: “It has been a tough week, which everybody expected. We’ve worked with the football a lot, though, so it has been good and I’ve enjoyed the week.
“You’re here to work hard and you’re here to get better. You’re here to train hard and get ready for the season. For me as a young lad, you’ve got to give yourself the best chance possible of stepping up and getting onto a similar level as the other players.”
He added: “Everyone has a good attitude and everyone wants to be better. Everyone gets along well with each other as well, which always helps. We’re a team and we do everything together - that’s reflected in training. Everyone works hard and does the best for each other.”
