Calvin Andrew has been reflecting on the pre-season trip so far…
He spoke to Dale Player at the end of the fifth session of the week to give an insight into the hard-work that the players have been faced with.
“It’s very hard work, which all pre-seasons are.
“It has been intense and constant, but it’s what you need to start the season well.
“And knowing the gaffer the way I do, it’s what I expected. I know that he likes us to work hard and get the most out of his players. It’s all about us getting the most out of our bodies and that’s really what we’re doing here.
“It’s a fine balance, though. You’ve got to work hard and intensely within the hours that we’ve got, but you’ve got to work clever as well and I think that’s what we’ve done since we’ve been here so far. We train in the mornings and the afternoons but we have recovery sessions as well to make sure that our bodies are working at an optimum.
“[What we’ve been doing] is all game related, possession related and involving what we need to do to make sure we make an impact at the start of the season.”
