Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale Player following Tuesday night’s match v Sheffield United…
Dale fell to a 2-1 defeat, gifting a second half goal to the Blades through a goalkeeping error.
Despite the defeat, Hill was in an upbeat mood after the game.
“Mistakes happen, but it’s just a shame that it happens against one of the better sides in the league. It was a great opportunity for us tonight and I thought it was evenly matched.
“They’re an excellent side and I thought at times, especially in the second half, we showed great courage, a great response, but unfortunately mistakes are part of the game and you’ve got to accept that.
“There’s no point in feeling sorry for yourselves. It was added bonus having this game – there was nothing to be lost today but we could have gained so much.
“I was reasonably happy with the performance, the spirit has always been there and the energy was there. It’s just unfortunate that we couldn’t salvage something from the game points wise.”
