Manager Keith Hill has confirmed that Calvin Andrew will be side-lined for the next five weeks after sustaining an injury against Peterborough United last weekend.
Hill admits that Andrew will be a miss, but says it’s an opportunity for someone else, namely second year scholar Nyal Bell, who is expected to start against Chesterfield on Saturday.
The Gaffer told Dale Player: “It’s a great opportunity.
“Nyal Bell, wow, making your debut against Chesterfield is absolutely superb.
“He has done a tremendous job on the training pitch and I’m going to give him his opportunity. He’s a young boy who absolutely runs our senior central defenders into the ground every day.”
