Manager Keith Hill discusses the arrival of goalkeeper Jamie Jones, who joined Dale on loan until the end of the season on Thursday afternoon…
“We’ve brought him in to play,” Hill told Dale Player.
“Throughout the time that we lost Conrad Logan there are certain statistics that we can’t ignore. Josh [Lillis] has been privy to every conversation, as well as everything that we’ve been through and have gone through.
“It’s very difficult being a goalkeeper and it’s a difficult position to get right as a manager and continue to get right.
“We’ve shown great support to all of our ‘keepers and all of our players, but I thought it was necessary to bring in a goalkeeper.
“There are certain requirements and certain necessities, and we have to get back on track. We have to get back on track in that department, so he [Jamie Jones] has definitely been brought in to play, but there is an added incentive that there’s real major competition for the number one spot as well.”
