Rochdale exited the Lancashire Youth Cup on Tuesday afternoon following a nail-biting penalty shoot-out defeat to Blackpool.
With the sides level at full-time, the game went straight to spot-kicks.
Harry Pratt had opened the scoring with a strike from distance in the fifteenth minute, but Dale’s early lead was cancelled out two minutes before the break.
The hosts took the lead shortly before the hour mark, before Pratt equalised for Rochdale with 12 minutes of the semi-final tie remaining.
Blackpool booked their place in the final of the competition with a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win, after both goalkeepers made saves.
