Rochdale secured their first point of the season on Saturday after twice coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Port Vale.
A late goal from Andrew Hollins ensured a share of the spoils in Stoke-on-Trent.
The hosts opened the scoring in the seventh minute, but Dale responded shortly after the half hour through a Brandon Smalley free-kick, and the sides went in level at the interval.
The Valiants regained the lead with 74 minutes gone, before Hollins headed home from a corner with four minutes of the match remaining.
