Preview: Coventry City

19 September 2014

Rochdale host Coventry City in a league match for the first time in almost 90 years this Saturday, as Dale welcome the Sky Blues to Spotland.

It’s the first league meeting between the two sides since the 1925/26 season, however, they have met more recently, with Dale recording an FA Cup fourth round victory over Coventry City in 2003.

Rochdale head into Saturday’s encounter on the back of Tuesday night’s emphatic victory over Walsall, while ten man Coventry slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe United. Reda Johnson was shown a straight red card during the game and will miss the trip to Spotland through suspension.

Josh Lillis (ankle), Matty Lund (shoulder) and Jack Muldoon (groin) will again be absent for Dale through injury, however, Manager Keith Hill has no new injury worries.
