Hill: It Was Absolute Privilege

3 September 2014

Manager Keith Hill says it was “an absolute privilege” to name Jamie Allen as Skipper for Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Gresty Road.

In the absence of the injured Olly Lancashire, the talented 19-year-old, who has impressed since breaking into the first team last season, wore the Captain’s armband for the match.

Hill commented: "It is an absolute privilege to give Jamie Allen the Captain’s armband.

“He has been at the club since he was nine years old and he deserves it.

“To do it at Crewe, in the lion’s den of developing football players, was just rewards for him and I’m so glad we’ve won while he was wearing the arm band.”
