Crawley Town: Preview

5 September 2014

Rochdale are on the road again road this Saturday as they make the long trip to Crawley Town’s Broadfield Stadium for the first ever meeting between the two sides.

It’s the second of three consecutive away games for Dale and the first overnight stay of the season for Keith Hill’s squad, who set off on the 515 round trip on Friday morning.

Dale head into the match on the back of Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Crewe Alex. Saturday’s opponents were also in JPT first round action midweek, seeing off Cambridge United with a 2-0 win.

Dale have no new injury worries for the game, while Josh Simpson (ankle) and Bobson Bawling (hamstring) are both due to miss the game for the home side. Joe Walsh and Gwion Edwards will also be absent due to being on international duty with Wales U21s.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Manager Keith Hill commented: “We’re first and foremost going into a very difficult game. John Gregory, wow, as a Manager he’s superb. It’s a difficult proposition and a difficult task for us.

“We’re looking forward to that task, but who knows what’s going to happen. All I do know is that we’ll continue with our plan, our philosophy and our strategy. Let’s see where it takes us.”
