Assistant Manager Chris Beech spoke to Dale Player following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Coventry City at Spotland…
“It was a real good performance from both sets of players. I thought Coventry were probably the best team that have been to Spotland. They continued to keep probing, passing and moving the ball, and they had the better of the midfield in the early part of the game. Me and Keith had a chat about it and we changed it, which actually helped us get our goal with Bastien being slightly forward. They really had to earn their right to win that.
“The fans will be very happy, the players are very happy and the staff and management are over the moon, and at the end of the day we feel like the players deserved it.
“We’ve had a great two home games – what a spectacle for our supporters, who were brilliant today. The supporters were absolutely brilliant and for the people who didn’t come on Tuesday they didn’t half miss out on a football party. Over the two home games, what value for money. It’s better than the Premier League, isn’t it,” smirked Beechy.
He continued: “It’s unbelievable playing in League One. We’ve got to enjoy these experiences and challenges because we worked so hard last year to be in this ring.
“The players are fully inclusive behind that journey and we don’t know where it’ll go, but what we do know is that the next challenge in front of us Leyton Orient. We’ll re-group, we’ll look to go into the game on the front foot and give the best account of ourselves as we possibly can.”
