Hill: The Best Fresh Chance Of Getting Points

20 October 2014

Manager Keith Hill has said that he’ll look to utilise the squad as his side get set for a week of traveling.

Dale are in action at Swindon Town on Tuesday evening, before making the long trip to Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the fixture at the County Ground, Hill recognises that it’ll be a difficult match against a Robins side that have lost just one league game this season.

He told Dale Player: “There has to be changes [to the team] due to the energy that we’re playing with. Playing against a side [Gillingham on Saturday] that had no positive energy, with regards to creating momentum within the game, can sap you of all your energies for one or two opportunities, so it’s important that we utilise the squad on Tuesday, and obviously with the long trip to Yeovil on Saturday.

“We’ll rotate up to maybe three players and we’ll give ourselves the best fresh chance of getting points from what I do consider to be the best footballing side in the league.”

Hill continued: “Looking at it, there’s a league within the league now and Swindon are in the top elite league, along with the likes of Bristol City, Preston, MK Dons and Peterborough. There’s a break away bunch and it’s only a matter time before they actually do break away and create a distance between the next phase of the league, and I put Swindon in that elite group.

“They’ve developed over the last two or three seasons as an outstanding League One football club and it looks like they’re going to go again. This could be Swindon’s opportunity to get promoted.”
