Record Turn Out For Half Term Courses

4 November 2014

The latest half-term multi-sport sessions, organised by Rochdale AFC’s Community team, proved extremely popular again with over 100 boys and girls attending the October courses.

An added bonus was the presence of several Dale players at the three venues across the Borough - Siddal Moor Sports College, The Soccer Factory and Wardle Academy.

Matty Done and Olly Lancashire demonstrated basic football skills at Siddal Moor Sports College, while Calvin Andrew and Matty Lund took part in a passing session at Soccer Factory. Steven Dawson and Josh Lillis entertained attenders at Wardle Academy.

The children who attended were presented with a complimentary ticket for Dale’s League One fixture against Preston North End.

Keith Hicks, Head of Dale in the Community, commented: “The October week was a real success and showed the popularity of these courses. With Dale flying high in the league and playing some excellent football, it’s encouraging youngsters to get involved in our activities.

“The presence of the players is a massive bonus for us, with parents complimenting the way they interacted with the boys and girls. I can only thank the Dale management team and players for their continued support, as well as all those who attended the courses. A great week was had!”
