Rochdale welcome Northampton Town to Spotland on Tuesday night for an FA Cup first round replay, after stalemate at the Sixfields Stadium ten days ago.
The winners of the tie will go on to face either Portsmouth or Aldershot Town away on Sunday 7th December.
This is only the second time that the Cobblers will have visited Spotland for an FA Cup clash. The 27th January 1990 was the date when the sides last met in the famous competition, with Rochdale coming out 3-0 winners. Dale progressed into the fifth Round of the Cup that year, eventually being knocked out by Crystal Palace.
As with the original tie at Sixfields, Goalkeeper Conrad Logan and Reuben Noble-Lazarus are eligible to play having been given permission from their respective clubs, Leicester City and Barnsley, however, defender Jack O’Connell hasn’t been allowed to play by parent club Blackburn Rovers. Ian Henderson will miss the game as he serves the second of his three match suspension, while Peter Vincenti (knee) is Dale’s only long term absentee.
For the visitors, left-back Tom Newey is out on the sidelines after suffering ligament damage in Friday’s game at Cambridge United. Lawson D’Ath will also miss the game through injury, while Evan Horwood and Lewis Hornby, who have returned to light training, are also expected to miss out.
