Hill: No Shame In Falling Short

24 November 2014

Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale Player after Saturdays 3-1 home defeat against Doncaster Rovers...

“Doncaster are a very good side. They have a group of very good players and they played really well today,” said Hill.

“It was always going to be a difficult game and they caused us problems all afternoon. It started off as a wrestle and it continued to be a wrestle.

“When we went down to ten men it became very, very difficult. They were very good in possession with Bennett, Wellens and Coppinger getting into good pockets. Wabara played superbly and their strikers were a constant threat all day. They didn’t go direct even with the extra man. They kept the ball even more and that made it hard for us.”

He continued: “We were a bit lucky going into the final five minutes of the game at 1-1 but then again we were a bit unlucky not to get a draw from the match.

“The boys played against a good side today and I thought they were excellent but we fell short, and there’s no shame in falling short with ten men against Doncaster.”
