Sean McGinty Agrees Permanent Deal

20 May 2014

Keith Hill’s squad for the 2014/15 campaign continues to take shape with confirmation that Sean McGinty has agreed a permanent deal with the club, following his departure from Sheffield United.

The defender, who spent six weeks on loan at Spotland from the Blades at the end of last season, has signed a one-year-deal, effective from July.

The 20-year-old is the fourth player to commit his future to Dale since Friday, and joins Jack Muldoon, Steve Collis and Josh Lillis in agreeing terms.

Assistant Manager Chris Beech commented: “I know the supporters didn’t get to see too much of Sean on a Saturday [while he was onloan], but Sean comes from a great stock of pedigree after being at Manchester United from the age of 14.

“He has impressed us in the way that he went about his training, he impressed us in how he went about supporting the squad on matchdays, whether he was getting changed or not.

“He’s got a very good left foot, he’s of good stature, he’s of good size, he’s still got lots of potential, so it fits us. I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes about pre-season and the way that he’ll step onto that
good work that he did during his loan period.”

Welcome back aboard, Sean!
