Assistant Manager Chris Beech says Dale are taking one game at a time as they prepare for the trip to the Fleetwood Town's Highbury Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Beech told Dale Player: “You’ve got to look at what’s in front of you and do your best in that challenge, and that's what we'll do. The immediate need is Saturday’s game and we’ll look to go into that at full tilt. We’re full of energy and we’re fully recovered from Tuesday. We trained on Wednesday, we recuperated on Thursday and we’re going to do some match preparation today.
"We’ll go to Fleetwood with good energy, good intelligence and we’ve got to make sure that our attitude and ethics are right, which they have been all season, and back ourselves against a very organised football team, who are looking themselves to gain automatic promotion. We will go there with a plan and we’ll look to express that.
"We look at it as another opportunity and as a congruent group who are right behind the Manager’s message, which started in pre-season in Tenerife. Keith’s got everyone working together and that’s brought us to where we are. The players are playing free, but it’s definitely with some structure behind it, and that is evident in the displays on a Saturday and a Tuesday.”
Dale were 3-0 winners over Portsmouth on Tuesday night, taking the league goals tally for the season so far to 64. The goals continue to be spread, something which pleases Beech.
“The goals are coming from all sources really. If you’re going up against us, it’s difficult for opposition teams to say 'you look after him or keep him quiet', so that’s a great attribute to have in a team. It comes from the ability to run hard, to run off the ball and their dynamic movement. We of course have people on the ball who are capable of keeping possession with a vision to the play the passes. There’s a synergy to it and it’s something we do every day – it’s a natural joy to watch the players doing what they do.”
