On Wednesday 9th July, Dale’s Football in the Community Trust held an open evening inviting girls to try out for their new under 16s team and it proved to be a big hit!
18 girls turned up at the Soccer Factory in Castleton for the coaching and fun activities, resulting in the formation of a team which will represent Rochdale AFC during the forthcoming season in the North Manchester Girls League.
A second session was held this week, and after another positive turnout, the Trust are now looking at the creation of an under 14s side, in addition to the under 16s team.
Sessions will continue on Wednesday’s throughout August, between 6-8pm at the *Soccer Factory, giving anyone who missed the original session, the chance to impress over the next few weeks. Sessions are coached by FA Qualified Coaches Jordan McKinley and James Cooney.
