Rochdale v Morecambe

Spotland Stadium, Saturday 15th Feb 2014, 3pm kick-off

Rochdale welcome Morecambe to Spotland this Saturday in the first of two consecutive home games for Dale, with Burton Albion the visitors on Tuesday evening.

Keith Hill’s side head into the fixture following Saturday’s 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, while the Shrimps fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to the Brewers.

Ahead of the fixture, Assistant Manager Chris Beech confirmed in his pre-match interview that Peter Cavanagh and Olly Lancashire were given a run out in Tuesday’s closed doors friendly against Blackpool as they continue their recovery from injury. Dale have no other injury worries or suspensions.

Jim Bentley will again be without Alex Kenyon, who is serving a three match ban, but could call upon Andy Fleming, whose knee injury isn’t as bad as first feared. Mark Hughes and Robbie Threlfell could also make a return.

WATCH AGAIN

Dale were 2-1 winners when the sides met at the Globe Area in November.

Two goals in three second half minutes saw Rochdale open up a deserved and commanding lead over the Shrimps. Dale went ahead through a Mark Hughes own goal, which was claimed by Andrew Tutte, before Scott Hogan doubled the advantage three minutes later. Padraig Amond pulled one back for the home side in the 88th minute.
