Duo Visit Hollingworth Academy

6 February 2014

Rochdale AFC’s Football in the Community Trust have already delivered coaching sessions to over 60 women and girls in conjunction with the Football League Trust’s Football Development Programme, which is set to play an integral role in the progression of the women’s and girl’s game.

The FA and Sports England have joined forces with the Premier League and Football League to help Community Trusts deliver season-long coaching programmes, with the aim of reaching 40,000 new female players. This is the first time all four organisations have worked together to deliver a grass roots women’s football programme.

Sessions have been delivered by Dale’s Community Trust at St Cuthbert’s High School, Hollingworth Academy, Co-operative Academy in Blackley and Kingsway Park Sports Centre, with another eight schools set to receive coaching between now and June.

Girls at Hollingworth Academy received a visit from first team duo Peter Vincenti and Olly Lancashire earlier this week.
