Rochdale kick-off their 2014/15 campaign on Saturday - here’s what Manager Keith Hill had to say ahead of the start of the new season…
“I’ve been really, really pleased with pre-season and the attitude and the application of all the players.
“It was always our intention to integrate the young players into the squad, especially in pre-season. It was a great opportunity to see them, not just from a football perspective, but from a mental perspective, as well as in a first team environment, and I would say that everyone has passed with flying colours.
“Pre-season has been marvellous from that respect because it gives me a lot of opportunity to integrate the players during the season.
“Right now, though, we are embarking on a campaign that is three points valuable and as a football club we need as many three points as we possibly can with the players that we’ve got at our disposal.
“It’s real men’s football for those young boys and they won’t let us down in the same way that they didn’t let us down last season.”
