Oasis Day At Spotland

3 April 2014

We all know that matchday announcer Dave Sweetmore plays some of the best music in the Football League, and for this Saturday’s game he wants you to get involved with picking some of the songs.

With August marking 20 years since the release of Oasis’ debut album, Definitely Maybe, Dave wants to know what your favourite Oasis song is. He’ll then look to play as many of your choices as possible at this weekend’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against York City.

Dave commented: “Here at Spotland we've gained an amazing reputation for the music we play on a match day as we don’t follow the trends of other grounds around the Football League.

“Much of the music we play is from Manchester based bands, which makes us unique. It’s not uncommon to receive tweets and comments from opposition fans, journalists and press staff, who are very complimentary about the music we play.”

He continued: “Last season we had Beatles Day at Spotland where we played nothing but Beatles songs as we celebrated 50 years since the Fab Four’s release, and following its success we thought we’d lead the way in marking the 20th anniversary of Manchester’s finest.

“Pre-match and half time music at Saturday's game will be nothing but Oasis tracks, and it would be great if you could get involved by helping pick the songs.”
