Keith Hicks, Head of Dale’s Football in the Community Trust, would like to say a big thank you to all those who took part in the sponsored walk to Accrington before Saturday’s match at the Store First Stadium.
The aim of the walk, which was organised by the Dale Trust, was to raise £1,000 to put towards a van which the Football in the Community team can use when they visit schools, organisations and community groups throughout the town.
Club staff including Keith Hicks, Siobhan McElhinney, Jordan McKinley, Groundsman Oli Makin and Associate Director Bill Goodwin, all donned their walking boots to take part in the 12 mile trek along side Trust members and supporters.
Keith said: “I’d like to thank those who took part. It was an early start as we met at 7.30am in the Ratcliffe Suite, but everyone was in good spirits and the weather held out for us!
“The money raised will provide much needed funds which will go towards helping us acquire a van which will be used to transport our equipment when we’re out and about across the area.”
The Dale Trust will announce how much has been raised in due course.
