Join the Christie Charity as they hold a bucket collection at Spotland Stadium this Saturday

BBC Radio Manchester’s charity of the year partner, The Christie Charity, is holding a bucket collection at Spotland this Saturday as we welcome Bury in the local derby. With this in mind, they’re on the look-out for volunteers to help out.

Volunteers will help collect money from fans as they arrive at the ground in the run up to kick-off. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Jordan Goucher, a fundraising assistant at the Christie, by emailing - jordan.goucher@christie.nhs.uk

The Christie Charity was founded to support the incredible work of The Christie hospital helping all those affected by cancer. The vital funds raised each year are used to fund projects at The Christie that lie outside the scope of the NHS, including advanced facilities such as their patient treatment centre and the clinical trials unit. It helps to make The Christie more than 'just a hospital', making it the special place it is. They couldn't do this without the endless generosity and support of people across the North West and around the UK.

The Christie charity has been selected as the first ever charity of the year partner for BBC Radio Manchester and with your help the partnership aims to raise one million pounds to benefit cancer patients in Greater Manchester through a new mobile chemotherapy unit that will take Christie care closer to patients' homes.
