Rugby League World Cup 2013 action rolls into Rochdale on Monday (October 28th) as Spotland Stadium plays host to the game between Fiji and Ireland.
The two nations face each other at Spotland this Monday night (kick-off 8pm), with the match almost a sell-out.
Only a hundred tickets are said to be still remaining for the fixture and you can get yours by online at www.rlwc2013.com/rochdale or by phoning 0844 847 2013. Ticket prices start at £10 (£5 concessions).
Rochdale AFC Chief Executive, Colin Garlick, says it should be a proud moment for the town.
“It was well over two years ago that the local council and the Stadium Company started the process to bring the Rugby League World Cup to Spotland and we’ve been involved since then, mostly from an awareness point of view and more recently assisting as best we can to ensure this event goes as planned.
“It’s a big event in the rugby world as it’s the pinnacle of their sport and for us to be hosting a game is great. There’s strong tie with the Fijian team and the Fijian community in Rochdale and it seems to have captured the region’s attention with the game approaching a sell-out.
“It should be a proud moment for the town to be hosting this event on Monday.”
