Everyone at Rochdale Football Club is stunned and devastated to hear that former Dale winger Joe Thompson has been diagnosed with cancer.
Tranmere Rovers, his current club, announced on Friday morning that Joe underwent medical tests after feeling unwell, with tests confirming that he had contracted nodular sclerosing Hodgkin’s disease.
He will shortly begin a six month course of chemotherapy.
Our thoughts are with Joe and his family at this time, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
