Manager Keith Hill gave his thoughts to Dale Player following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to AFC Wimbledon…
“I’m disappointed with the manner that we’ve conceded the two goals,” said Hill. “They were basic elementary errors and that’s what’s costing us at the minute – it cost us at Dagenham and it cost us again today.
“Individual players will either play or not play with respect to the decisions that they make and they’ve got to make good decisions at the right time during games. I believe that individual decision making hasn’t been up to scratch today, which has allowed the opposition to score on both occasions.
“The first free-kick is debatable whether it’s a free kick or not, plus whether the ball is actually in play or not, but we have to deal with it. We’re paid to deal with it, the players are paid to deal with the responsibility of defending wide free kicks. It has seeped into our game which can destroy the bigger picture at times.
“It’s a results driven business and the players are being brave, but they’re accountable for a defeat like that.”
