We can confirm that Rochdale’s FA Youth Cup second round tie v Crewe Alexandra will take place at Spotland on Wednesday 20th November.
Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for 16s and under. Kick-off is 7pm.
Dale booked their place in the second round with a 6-2 win over Warrington Town, while The Alex saw off Coventry City with a 2-0 victory.
The tie is a repeat of last season’s fixture, where the two sides were paired against each in the third round of the competition. Dale emerged as eventual winners, with a 3-2 extra time victory.
Rochdale, who had recorded wins over Rotherham United and Sheffield United, respectively, in the previous two rounds, got off to the perfect start after taking the lead on three minutes through Danny Whitehall.
The youngsters went into the interval with the advantage, but Ryan Colclough pulled Crewe Alexandra level on 55 minutes. Rochdale responded almost immediately as Callum Camps fired Dale back into the lead with a wonder strike from distance.
Crewe came from behind once more, this time through Liam Wilson, who sent the match to extra time. Substitute Nyal Bell rifled the ball home from 20 yards in the 105th minute to earn Dale a trip to face Nottingham Forest in the next round.
