Preparations for next season continued on Wednesday morning with the confirmation that Manager Keith Hill has secured the services of Bastien Hery for next season.
The 21-year-old, who has been part of Sheffield Wednesday’s Development Squad since last summer, will put pen to paper on one a year deal with Rochdale when his current contract at the Owls expires at the end of June.
Hery spent the final two weeks of the season training with Dale as Hill ran the rule over the midfielder, and the Gaffer is full of praise for the Frenchman: “He’s spent a year in the English game which is an ideal pick up for me because he is now integrated into British football so there’s no surprises for him.
“In the two weeks that he trained with us he was excellent. He showed an excellent attitude, application and appetite and he’s got an unbelievable ability.
“He wants to prove himself, he wants to play for me and he wants to play for Rochdale Football Club. That’s the type of player we want at this Football Club.”
An interview with Manager Keith Hill will be on Dale Player later in the week.
